Myocardial Infarction Treatment
Saarland Project About To Start
Jointly with the Saarland Department for Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family, Stiftung Institut für Herzinfarktforschung will support the MIR-SL project (Saarland Myocardial Infaction Registry). In cooperation with all the hospitals and emergency physicians, the project intends to optimize the treatment of acute myocardial infarction.
For that purpose, the current treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction is captured in a scientific database for an initial 6-month period. Patient data are then analyzed and reviewed to identify potential for improvement.
Having implemented the agreed improvements, data from all MI patients will be documented for another 6-month period and included in the scientific database to identify any positive outcome resulting from the improvements. What’s special about MIR-SL is the fact that all patients will be followed for up to 5 years.
