Congress of the European Society of Cardiology
IHF goes Barcelona
Through the involvement of the Foundation IHF, we are able to present more than 40 entries in the scientific program at this year's European Society of Cardiology Congress (August 30-September 3).
In lectures, Doctor Gitt will report current results on pharmacological reduction of blood lipids as well as the frequency and importance of hypoglycaemia in diabetic patients. Professor Zeymer presents registry data for interventional treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock. He also introduces the result of the ETAMI study, which dealt with the optimization of drug adjunctive therapy in the acute treatment of acute myocardial infarction. In other presentations, Doctor Karcher (Ludwigshafen) shows results from the PCI-registry (advantages and disadvantages of different access path for PCI), Dr. Werner reports from the TAVI registry (frequency of stroke after aortic valve replacement) and Dr. Puls (Göttingen) will inform about the TRAMI- registry (one versus two MitraClip devices – differences in patients, intervention and outcome).
More than 30,000 cardiologists from around the world are expected to attend the congress.
